Nordstrom‘s former chairman Bruce Nordstrom has passed away at the age of 90.
“Our dad will be remembered not only for his significant contributions to Nordstrom but also for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends,” Bruce’s sons Pete and Erik Nordstrom said, as quoted by The Seattle Times.
Pete currently serves as president and chief brand officer, while Erik serves as CEO of the department store chain.
“His passion, integrity, and tireless work ethic served as an inspiration to everyone around him. But perhaps his greatest achievement was being an amazing father, husband and grandfather.”
Bruce performed a significant role in the expansion of the company, including its initial public offering in 1971.
Bruce’s death came almost five years after his son and former Nordstrom co-president Blake Nordstrom passed away in 2019 at the age of 58.
