Walgreens has named its new VPs and merchandising and e-commerce heads to lead its retail and customer experience team.
The company appointed Tracey Koller as senior VP and chief merchandising officer, while Sharmila Sudhakar was named group VP and head of digital commerce.
The appointments are expected to significantly contribute to the turnaround plan as the company focuses on enhancing the omnichannel experience and driving in-store efficiencies.
Koller most recently served as chief merchandising officer at Party City. She brings more than 30 years of experience and a track record in omni-channel merchandising and operations at companies such as News Corp, Whole Foods and Target.
In her new role, Koller will be responsible for leading merchandising strategy across all categories, and the deployment of merchandising plans and programs to Walgreens’ competitive advantage.
Sudhakar joins Walgreens from Tailored Brands, where she held several leadership positions. She brings more than 20 years of experience developing cohesive omnichannel assortments and previously worked for well-known brands, including Walmart, Tile, Gap Incorporated, and Ebay.
In her new role, Sudhakar will drive digitally initiated revenue growth across various business lines, including retail products, pharmacy, photo services and health services and strengthening digital engagement.
Koller and Sudhakar will begin their new positions at Walgreens later this month.
